I have been working a HR manager for a few years now. There are a lot of things I have learned about human behavior and psychology. Dealing with people of all ages and professions make you understand this almost naturally. You know what a person is like and how capable is he or she for a job by just having a little conversation with the person. Preparing for a job interview in advance should be taken seriously to get through easily.

I guess that makes us smart in some way. Understanding human nature is like a second nature for me now. I have help countless job interviews, for different companies I have worked with. I know what makes people nervous and what makes them confident. You can strike a chord at an instant. That is one of the things about the job I have been doing for the last few years.

These are tough times for the job market. There are so many unemployed people all around, with companies cutting down on costs with layoffs. There are very few openings available. A lot of people I know are settling for the jobs which don’t use them well enough.

I will keep on rambling about the economy and the job market for hours. But I wanted to write something about job interviews here. Through my career I have seen candidates preparing for job interviews and then making such mistakes which take the impression out of the window.

Being confident about yourself is the first and the most important thing if you are preparing for a job interview. Now how you can be confident, when a lot of things are at stake with the job. That is the whole thing if you are a nervous wreck at the interview how can you expect the employer to trust you with the pressures of the job.

Then there are small things to take care of, a casually written resume shows a casual attitude of a person towards his work. It should be right to the point with all the relevant information written professionally.

Job interview requires you to present yourself as best suited for the job. Know the company profile in advance. A very important and neglected aspect of a job interview. Dress up smartly like a professional, which makes a powerful statement.

If you are serious about the job and are well prepared to handle the job interview there is nothing to be nervous about, that will only work against you.
